The "ONE - DAY - SURGERY" system uses modern techniques and top devices, with fast postoperative recovery and integration in the physical activity one or two days after the surgical intervention. The principle introduced by the Americans in 1962 (Cohen &Dillon) - Center for Health Sciences at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) was brought into practice by the Canadians in 1965 at Children's Hospital of Vancouver .

This therapeutic principle started from the reciprocal desire for the clinic to spare money and for the patient to consider the operation in a more pleasant way - hospitalization on the surgery date and, in most of the cases, leaving hospital on the same day (appendicitis, hernias, varicose veins, knots, all the aesthetic surgery, piles, liposuction) or on the second day (cholecyist, uterine fibroma, abdominoplasties, facial lifting, etc).

This thing was possible by adapting the classical surgical techniques, performed in the past with general anesthesia, with big incisions, unaesthetic visible sutures – in the present with regional / epidural anesthesia (farmacodynamic products, anesthetics with minimum secondary effects) and new suture techniques with resorptive, resistant, hypoallergic materials, subtegumentary placed (aesthetic suture) in wrinkles and in the masked areas (pubian hair, axillary area, submammary fold). The minimum complications incidence (almost zero) is due to the perfect haemostasis by Hi-Fi techniques electro-surgery 400 W and/or laser CO2 – which leads to the disappearance of the haematomas and festering and to the renunciation of the prolonged drainage (maximum 24 hours, if need be). One sole dose of antibiotics during the surgical intervention.

I became accustomed with these principles in Munich – being a surgeon for 10 years there – on a solid basis from Romania – 6 years specialization at professor I. Juvara from the Cantacuzino Clinic, then 7 years of cardiovascular surgery at the Military Hospital , and constant duty at the Emergency Hospital Floreasca.
